Both ends of the pipe shall be threaded to API 5B buttress threads. One side provided with a seamless coupling to ASTM A 451 grade 316L mounted hand tight with 3/8" taper in one foot (1/32" in one inch) to reduce the make up torque. The threads shall be treated by copper plating for antigalling by a qualified and nominated factory which will guarantee the make and break of the joint of ten times.
Type 316L seamless stainless steel riser pipe is the most common austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel. Its properties provide corrosion resistance to a wide range of atmospheric, chemical, textile, petroleum, and food industry exposures.
