Stainless steels are iron-based alloys containing a minimum of 10.5% chromium (CR). This chromium creates an invisible surface film that resists oxidation, making the material corrosion-resistant.
Classified as austenitic and hardenable by cold working. These grades contain chromium (18-30%) and nickel (6-20%). Type 304 is the most widely used alloy, known for its strength at high temperatures and ease of maintenance.
A versatile, general-purpose stainless steel with excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion and chemicals. The 304L version is preferred for welded applications to eliminate chromium carbide precipitation.
Molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. It offers superior corrosion resistance compared to 304, particularly in chloride environments, and provides excellent tensile and creep strength at elevated temperatures.
