Product Description
Clad Plates

Our company has been a leader in developing roll bonding and explosive bonding dissimilar metals. The advantage of clad materials is the end product combines the superior properties of each metal: Strength, Corrosion Resistance, Lightweight, Cost, Thermal and Electrical Conductivity. As a result, clad products produce a material superior to any of the individual metals taken alone.

Clad metals produced by our roll bond technology or explosive bond combine two or more metals into a single sheet or plate that can be cut, welded or formed into a finished part ranging from chemical processing chambers and pressure vessels to small applications and clad pipe. We specialize in cladding stainless steel or nickel alloys to carbon steel as well as triple layer clad plates bonding stainless steel to an aluminum core.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What are the main advantages of using bimetal clad plates?
Clad plates combine the strengths of different metals, such as the high corrosion resistance of stainless steel or nickel with the high strength and lower cost of carbon steel, providing a high-performance, cost-effective solution.
Q2: What cladding techniques do you use?
We primarily use Roll Bonding and Explosive Bonding technologies. Roll bonding is ideal for mass production, while explosive bonding is used for joining metals that cannot be bonded by conventional rolling.
Q3: How strong is the bond between the two metal layers?
Our technical process ensures a bond shear strength exceeding 300Mpa, which is significantly higher than the standard requirement of 210Mpa, ensuring the layers do not separate under pressure or temperature changes.
Q4: Which industries typically use these clad materials?
Our products are widely used in the chemical processing industry, oil and gas, pressure vessel manufacturing, shipbuilding, bridge construction, and food processing equipment.
Q5: What is the lead time for standard stock items?
For regular specifications held in our large inventory, we can guarantee delivery within 3 days. Custom sizes and specifications will have a lead time based on the production schedule.
Q6: Can you produce triple-layer clad plates?
Yes, we specialize in advanced cladding including triple-layer plates, such as bonding stainless steel to an aluminum core for specialized thermal and mechanical applications.
